Personal Development

Several years ago I came across an opportunity that ignited my passion for personal development. It really started with one book – that book was Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill and it really was the beginning of a shift in my way of thinking.

Following on from that were many many books from a range of authors – the Rich Dad Poor Dad series, DNA of success, Jack Canfield, The Secret, Carnegie plus many other fantastic books. I had come to realise that the way to lead a truly fulfilling life was to be a student of personal developmentĀ  and work on the inside.

Now I have also been to several conferences that had spanned anywhere from a few hours through to a few days. These were often quite high energy and were I guess aimed to pump you up and teach you a few principles along the way. I learned some really great insights from these events but found that a week or so after the session the hype had gone, the motivation levels had dropped, and old habits had set back in.

I knew from past experience that in order to develop a new habit then that habit needed to be repeated consistently on a daily basis for several weeks for the new way of living or thinking to take hold and become a habit. Now this obviously didn’t align very well with these short seminars unless you already had an open mind and the taught habits were already very closely matched to your current routine.

Well a couple of months ago, I came across a personal development concept that was basically in a league of it’s own. It was a home study course that focused on eight areas of your life and was a collaboration of teachings from 14 of today’s most highly recognised people in the personal development industry. Patrick Combs, Michael Losier, Janet Atwood, Fredric Lehrman, Ellie Drake, Shane Ellison, Deanna Latson, Mark Shimada, Martin Latulippe, Erica Combs, Glenn & Gwen Pickering, Daryl Davis & Coleman Fisher. I had already come across several of these luminaries before and now I had discovered a course that combined their knowledge into one holistic system.

The Home Study Course – Discovery Series from Lifepath Unlimited - consisted of a audio set and movie length DVD “Awakening” and a 56 day online development series. This is where the brilliance of the system started to become apparent. As I worked through the online exercises each day I started to recognise that this course was beginning to permanently shift my mindset and I was consciously becoming a powerful user of the Law Of Attraction.

The power of this course lay in the quality of the content and teachers, the holistic approach to prosperity, and the requirement to undertake daily exercises that focused on different areas of your life. These daily actions over a period of 56 days really do form positive new habits and thought patterns that are a necessity to achieve success and head in the direction you want your life to take.

I would love to touch on one particular aspect of the course which is the Passion Test. This activity basically lets you work out what you are fundamentally passionate about in life from which you can then construct goals that are inline with what you love. Once you are living a life of purpose and passion then anything you desire is achievable and life is bliss. Once you have this clarity about basically what makes you tick then you are able to move forward with ease and create a wonderful life.

Now I am still working on mastering these techniques myself but the abundance I am now attracting into my life is amazing and I hope to post a lot on the subject of personal development over the coming future.

A great way to powerfully manifest is to recognise and celebrate when you do manifest your desires – even small things like a free coffee or a carpark – and what better way than through a blog where video can be included and the world came reply and comment. So you will see what I have been manifesting through my posts and pages and I hope you find something of benefit.
