I Love Spring

It has been a fabulous week and a very busy one hence my lack of posts. Business has been booming, the weather has been quite sensational and I’ve had a bit of fun. Its amazing actually how nice weather puts everyone in a good mood – maybe we are all seretonin seekers in Wellington?

Got out for a dive at the weekend and came across Sammy the Seal. There are hundreds on shore round the coast at the moment, soaking up the sun and lazing around.

All suited up

What Are You Looking AT?

What Are You Looking AT?

I have been working on my bucket list this past week and have been using a great technique for visualisation. My mind races a bit so I find meditation very useful but quite often if I am visualising my goals, my mind wanders, so I wrote out my ideal day in a lot of detail. I then recorded an audio of myself reading this which I have placed on my ipod. During my visualising routine I listen to this story and I find it really helps me to focus on my dream and paint a really vivid moving picture in my head. I am currently working on separate ones for business etc so I’ll keep you updated as to how it is going.

Until next time :)

Health Gratitude – Bucket List

I had a bit of a health scare this week that has put a few things in perspective. Now I consider myself a fairly healthy sort of person – I eat well, I exercise (not directly but walk a lot and go diving etc), I’m young…ish at 31, and I have good genes whereby my dad is approaching 65 but looks much younger and I can’t remember him ever being sick.

Why wait till you are dying - create a living 'Bucket List'

Why wait till you are dying - create a living 'Bucket List'

Well I had a scare at the weekend that had the potential to be nasty as some of the symptoms were associated with cancer. This of course got my mind racing and it was like an avalanche of bad thoughts that I couldn’t hold back. A Google search did nothing to relieve my fearsand servedĀ as a lesson actually to not use the internet to diagnose health problems!

So anyhow I am not one for visiting doctors but now I have a daughter the option of ignoring the problem like most males would was not going to be fair to my little one nor me for that matter so I hurriedly made an appointment to get checked out.

As it turns out I am fine but it really has opened my eyes to a few things:

  1. If you haven’t got your health then what do you have?
  2. No amount of money can replace being healthy
  3. Why should the fact that I have a daughter make it any more important in looking after myself – I should have wanted to find out what was happening for my own sake.
  4. If the doctor had of told me I had some incurable disease then would I have had regrets – and the answer was yes!

So I have actually decided to sit down tonight and work out exactly what it is that I want from life and create a bucket list of all the things I would like to do and achieve in life. That way I can cross them off so when the day comes when my time is up – I would have pursued all the things I wanted from life and have no regrets for not trying.

I will post my list when it is complete :)

Google Caffeine

Came across this article which made interesting reading

Google made the unconventional move of announcing a potential major change to its organic search results algorithm. The announcement heralded “a secret project: a next-generation architecture for Google’s Web search.”…click here to view the rest of the article.

Quick Dive Off Wellington’s South Coast

We have had some beautiful weather recently so I thought I’d dust off the dive gear and go for a swim. If you don’t know Wellington New Zealand then we are a blessed city (like most of nz) – a 10 minute drive from the city and you are at some prime diving spots loaded with fish, paua, and crayfish. All I can say is – what a country!

Personal Development Breakdown

I hope this entry finds you well. I just wanted to give you an update on my progress so far not so much from a business point of you but really in relation to the personal products we promote with Lifepath Unlimited.

I recently completed the home study course – The Discovery Series – and wanted to share with you the benefits I have received in completing the course. Now This course is unlike anything I have come across before and is an holistic approach to personal development whereby the audio set is complemented by an online system that runs forĀ  56 days called 56 Days To Destiny. The course focuses on 8 key areas of your life which are as followed:

1. The path of purpose – this sets the foundation for the course by identifying what you are passionate about and what you want from life in order to develop goals that are meaningful and and give you purpose to achieve
2. The path of power – this aims to identify the unique skill set and characteristics you have that you can use to achieve success. The aim is to develop a mindset so that you are always living within your power and being responsible for your actions rather than being a victim.
3. The path of attraction focuses on the law of attraction and how you can harness this power to achieve whatever you may desire (a follow on from The Secret)
4. The path of results is centred around refining your goals into actions and taking the emotional attachment of getting results out of the equation so you can basically take action with faith rather than fear.
5. The path of relationships – obviously is working on building meaningful relationships and being in the moment and listening (rather than thinking of what you are going to say next. This had a really fantastic result for me with my family and people around me.
6. The path of wellness – this is holistic approach to wellness including diet and exercise but also mental health and the use of meditation. (breathing and meditation techniques are taught right through)
7. The path of riches – this is dedicated to the act of gratitude and appreciating what you have in life. The only time you are unhappy is when you are focusing on what you don’t have – another biggie for me
8. The path of liberation – the methods taught in this are designed to clear all your self imposed limits and beliefs that are holding you back from what you want and desire.

Although there is a business component attached to this company, the benefits I have personally received from completing the course have blown away my expectations and are fundamental to the business. I am seeing improvement in all areas of my life, particularly in my relationships with people especially those close to me. I have become a better dad and pretty much a better person to be around. I have an abundance of good fortune flowing to me from all over the place, not just money but opportunities that I am now open to. It really has been a life changing process and something I am grateful to be a part of.

I have attended dozens of personal development courses over the years and they are great in the moment yet a couple of weeks later the hype has died away and old habits set back in. This course has made me devote time everyday to bettering myself and over a period of time my habits have changed permanently.

I won’t ramble on too much but if you want to ask me any questions about my journey so far then please get in touch and I will do my best. I have been busy so feel free to take a look at my YouTube channel and see what I’ve been up to.

I look forward to your comments and feel free to share any other courses you may have attended.

Monday’s Gratitude Post

Today I wanted to start the week by recognising a few things that I can be grateful for. As I have mentioned before, the importance of being grateful is essential to living a good life and attracting abundance and it feels as though the world needs more gratitude awareness in this fast paced age where everything is a rush and people want instant gratification. Everyday I try to notice the little things so I will jot down a few that came my way today.

  1. The weather was beautiful today (in fact all weekend!)
  2. A client bought me a coffee this morning
  3. I found perfect parks all day and didn’t receive a parking ticket!
  4. A mate of mine rung me up to see if I would like to go fishing on Thursday (I think so)
  5. I spent an hour bouncing on the trampoline with my daughter
  6. I had four business inquiries
  7. I weighed myself and it appears I have been eating very well lately haha
  8. I read my daughter a book that I had when I was a child – felt kinda special

Now you may think these things are small and insignificant but in reality each one brought a smile to my face and in recognising them I am setting myself up to have a fantastic day tomorrow.

One thing my personal development journey has really taught me is to appreciate what I have and by focusing on what I do have then I will never feel without. The only time you are ever unhappy is when you are focused on what you don’t have.

Take care
